Day 01 Arrive Kathmandu

Upon arrival, after clearing immigration and custom, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Kathmandu is unique and fascinating capital of Nepal, a spiritual land isolated by the high Himalayas.

Day 02 Kathmandu

Following breakfast, visit Kathmandu City: The temple of lord Shiva – Pashupatinath is a richly ornamented pagoda with two tiered golden roof and silver doors. Guheswari Temple: It’s another historic and holy shrine dedicated to the goddess Guheswari, near Pashupatinath. Akash Bhairav Temple: Situated in the main market avenue, called Indra Chowk, it is a three storey temple. The image of Lord Akash Bhairav is displayed on the occasion of Indra Jatra, the festival of Indra, The rain God.

Hanuman Dhoka (Durbar Square):

Built between the 12th and the 18th centuries, this complex of palaces, courtyards and temples is the historic seat of royalty. It used to be the seat of ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. The durbar Square, protected as a UNESCO World heritage site, epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people.

Other than a 17th – century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages, interesting things to see here are: Taleju Temple (Built by King Mahendra Malla in 1549 A.D., Kal Bhairav, the god of Destruction Nautalle Darbar, Coronation Nasal Chowk, the Gaddi Baithak, the statue of king Pratap Malla, the big bell, big drum, the Jagannath Temple and three museums including the numis matic museum and the Tribhuvan Museum. Photography is prohibited inside the museums.

Swayambhunath (Samhengu): Listed as a world heritage site, this is one of the world’s most glorious Buddhist sites in Nepal. Its established is linked to the creation of the Kathmandu Valley out of a primordial lake. Three km west of Kathmandu this site is situated on a hillock about 77m. above the valley. Painted on the four-sides of the spire bases are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Gautam Buddha, the founder of Buddhism.

Day 03 Kathmandu

Following breakfast visit Budhanilkantha temple which is a statue of Lord Vishnu that is believed to be made of a single stone (if interested a short hike in the buffer zone of Shivapuri National Park

Boudhanath (also called Boudha, Bouddhanath or Baudhanath or the Khāsa Caitya) is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is known as Khāsti in Nepal Bhasa, Jyarung Khasyor in Tamang language or as Bauddha by speakers of Nepali. Located about 11 km (6.8 mi) from the center and northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu, the stupa’s massive mandala makes it one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal.

The Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath dominates the skyline. The ancient Stupa is one of the largest in the world. The influx of large populations of refugees from Tibet has seen the construction of over 50 Tibetan Gompas (Monasteries) around Boudhanath. As of 1979, Boudhanath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A special Prayer session can be arranged in a Buddhist monastery with a Lama giving simple lesson on Buddhism and special blessings.

Day 04 Kathmandu

Visit Khokana & Bungmati, Visit Khokana & Bungmati, one of the most affected areas after the devastating earthquake 2015 Bungmati is a small Newari town located south of Kathmandu city Patan and Kirtipur.

Later visit of Patan: Durbar Square, Situated I the heart of the city, constitutes the focus of visitors; attraction. The Square is full or ancient places, temples and shrines, noted for their exquisite carving. The Patan Durbar Square consists of three main chowk a Keshar Narayan Chowk. The Sundari Chowk holds in its center a masterpiece of stone architecture, the Royal Bath called Tushahity. It was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979.

Day 05 Kathmandu / Bandipur (150 km / 5hrs).

Following breakfast drive to Bandipur

Depart for Bandipur by private vehicle.

Bandipur, ancient hilly town, is a treasure waiting to be discovered by travelers. Situated at an altitude of 1,005 meters, this ancient trading post lies cradled in the saddle of some of the country’s most peculiar-shaped hills.

Day 06 Bandipur / Pokhara (95 km / 2hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Pokhara

Upon arrival, transfer to hotel and check-in

Day 07 Pokhara

AM: Excursion to Saronkot offers great view of Mt. Fish Tail and other Annapurna range of mountains ( subject to clear weather). A short hiking is also possible if pax want the same.

PM : sightseeing in Pokhara visiting Davi’s falls, Tibetan camp and local market. Overnight at Hotel Pokhara

Day 08 Pokhara / Chitwan (155 km / 5.5 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Chitwan

Check in to Lodge. After lunch visit Tharu Village and Elephant breeding camp.

Day 09 Chitwan

Full day jungle activities in Chitwan National Park including Elephant back Safari in community forest, visit to Crocodile breeding center OR Elephant breeding center (it depends upon the location of lodge) and jungle walk.

Optional: Jeep drive

Overnight at Resort.

Day 10 Chitwan / Pharping (195 Km-6hrs drive)

After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu and Transfer to Neydo Monastery, Pharping.

Day 11 Kathmandu (Pharping)

Day session on Tibet Meditation and Buddhist Philosophy with a Buddhist Master as a part of an awakening Retreat.

Day 12 Kathmandu /Dhulikhel

After breakfast, drive to Bhanjyang crossing Dhulikhel approx 2.5 hrs drive to reach Namoboudha crossing the typical villages.

Namobuddha (1765 meter): It is believed that here future Buddha sacrificed his body to a starving tigress so she wouldn’t eat her cubs.

After visiting the temple, check in to the Eco Resort which is worth staying.

Day 13 Dhulikhel / Namoboudha-Panauti – Bhaktapur

After breakfast, hike down to Panauti (2 hrs), a typical Newari village at the confluence of two holy rivers. Visit of Banepa, historical town, is about 25 km east from Kathmandu, with a number of Hindu and Buddhist temples. Most were built in the 14th & 16th centuries

Later drive to Bhaktapur, “The city of devotees”. Bhadgaon was founded in the 9th century and is shaped like a conch shell. Highlights: Durbar square the palace with 55 windows, Nyatapola temple, pottery square.

Day 14 Bhaktapur /Nagarkot / Bhaktapur

After breakfast trip to Nagarkot (1hrs drive) 2100 meter above the sea level offering great view of the Himalayan range in a clear day.

Drive back to Bhaktapur.

Day 15 Bhaktapur / Kathmandu

Breakfast at Hotel. Back to Kathmandu, visit to the temple complex of Changu Narayan. Changu Narayan is situated at the end of the long ridge which runs well into the Valley, it is said to have been built in 323 A.D. by King Hari Dutta Varma. The temple is richly decorated with sculptures and carvings. It is said to be the oldest temple in the Valley. It is situated about 153 m above the level of the Kathmandu Valley and affords a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside.

Check in to the hotel in Kathmandu.

Later sightseeing of Pashupatinath temple of Lord Shiva, the holiest temple for Hindus which is just 500 meters away from the hotel, located in the bank of the River Bagmati (entrance inside the temple for Hindus only). You can witness open cremations taking place in the riverside Ghat

Day 16 Kathmandu

Breakfast at hotel. Cable car ride to Chandragiri.

Chandragiri Hill, seven kilometers from Thankot, lies on the South-West of Kathmandu Valley and is 2551 meters from sea level.

The Bhaleshwar Mahadev temple of Lord Shiva is on top of the hill. Legend says that King Prithivi Narayan Shah worshipped in the temple before conquering the valley during his unification campaign.

Rickshaw rides, Evening: Dinner at an authentic Nepalese dinner and cultural show.
